Now you all know how us Laker fans felt in Denver (can certainly see where Phil earned his fine). Maybe the refs were giving L.A. one back. Big difference is you didn't see me,Mik,and other Laker fans on here whining and crying after Game 4. Seems there's always some excuse attached when the team(s) you are rooting for carry one.Quote:

b13 is right, if den. wins 6, they gon have to be up 20 late to win game 7`
The other night the refs let Denver thug L.A. to deathQuote:

Kobe played a different game tonight, got everybody else into the game instead of being the big dog himself. He stated this on the post game interview.Quote:

just amazing, lebron is just wow
The King does it again, I love it...but the others need to keep stepping it up.
I'm already pumped for Game 6, that'll be a test...hope they can.
I know it's just halftime, but 13 point lead, Lakers looking good.
16 after three...one more to go.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Los Angeles Lakers are YOUR 2009 Western Conference Champions!!!
We'll see if they can actually do it this year.
They just did.
Did I miss the Finals already? :) That's what I was talking about.
I know I was just giving you a hard time. As a Laker fan, I hope they do.
What!? I expected to get on here and read about how the refs gave Lakers Game 6. No way the Lakers won that game by nearly 30 on their own! HAHA on to the finals baby!
I left this forum a while back, but I have been reading this thread since it started. And all i have to say is F the haters, Go Lakers, if your team isn't still a contender then leave it alone, and get off 'Da Kings' nuts.
my team's best player has more rings than anyone in the nba right now except shaq, both have four.
the lakers just came out and dominated tonight, it looked like once denver got down by double digits they were just lost and accepted losing.
LA was hitting everything, they shot a crazy % from the field.
and guest, you are a moron.
just because your team isnt in the finals means you cant comentate on the games?
stupid fuck
i guess your mad because lebron is taking kobe's best player in the nba crown :/
and the refs werent good at all haha
id sad, but the truth is the nba wants the lakers and the cavs to play in the finals, so they are gonna get the refs akin to this and try and make it happen
i mean cmon guys, be honest here, hasnt there been calls where even laker fans shake their heads?
They'll be bitching about that for years to come.Quote:

Joey Crawford is terrible. Just about every call he makes makes me shake his head. He calls things no where near his territory.
In reality the calls evened themselves out IMO. If you want to look at getting calls, The KANG is getting more calls the Jordan ever did. There have been horrible falls called on Pietris (sp) and Howard have picked up some terrible fouls that if anyone else had the ball, it would not have been a foul.
Not really. Give Lebron that crown for all I care. The ring and the trophy are all I care about.Quote:

DENVER -- One by one they have lined up to take what is rightfully his, and on this night, another one failed. This time, the victim was Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant's closest friend from the Olympic team and one of many teammates from Bejing who've taken direct aim at him.
On the court, Bryant was cold, calm and calculating. He did what he promised. He "cut 'em up." When he said those words on the Lakers' practice court Thursday, venom sprayed out of his mouth with them. "We have to be cold-blooded," Bryant had said.
When he is gone, whenever that is, the NBA will miss his cold-bloodedness. Be honest, so will you. There has to be a villain, and Bryant has played that role better than anyone since Michael Jordan. The way all the young stars are worshipped now -- and worship each other -- I can't imagine anyone ever matching Kobe's killer instinct, the sick way he enjoys dissecting and demoralizing an opponent this way.
"I know there are some great players," said Andrew Bynum, who will be one of them someday. "But I think everybody knows that he's still the best."
Bryant had just finished playing the role of cruel puppet master, toying with the Denver Nuggets to the tune of 35 points and 10 assists in the Lakers' 119-92 victory, which secured a 4-2 victory in the Western Conference finals and a return trip to the NBA Finals. It is not just last year's loss to the Celtics they are going there to avenge, but the one in 2004 to the Pistons, too.
"Last season was the first chance we had to do something about what happened in '04, and it didn't happen," Derek Fisher said. "I think our guys are excited about it, to have a chance to kind of right what we felt was wrong."
? Lakers 119, Nuggets 92 | Series: Lakers 4, Nuggets 2
It was exactly what we saw coming after Game 5, when Bryant played the facilitator with only 13 shot attempts in 45 minutes. The Nuggets fell right into the trap. When they doubled, he passed. When they backed off, he attacked. Nuggets coach George Karl could do nothing about it, so he invoked Larry Bird, who once said of the greatest player ever, "He is God disguised as Michael Jordan."
"Number 24 had a great five minutes at the end of the game that no one in basketball could have covered him," Karl said. "He made about four shots in that stretch that I think Jesus would've had trouble covering him."
Bryant was only 3-for-3 from the field in the fourth, but it seemed like more. I don't care who has puppets made for them on TV, nobody in the game senses and appreciates the moment Karl was talking about better than Bryant.

After resting nervously on the bench for the final 1:31 of the third -- chomping a wad of gum, licking his lips while the Lakers successfully protected a 15-point lead without him -- Bryant returned for the start of the fourth. It was his time, and nobody was going to deprive him of it. Before he walked onto the floor, Trevor Ariza pulled him aside and said this: "So everybody always says that the fourth quarter's your quarter. Now, I want to see it."
And?
"He showed me what Kobe Bryant stands for," Ariza said, "and what he means."
Bryant drew J.R. Smith's fifth foul 23 feet from the basket and then went to work. He worked the pick-and-roll with Pau Gasol for a dunk that gave Kobe 30 points and made it 96-77 with 8:01 left. He drove with a step-through move from the wing for an uncontested layup that gave him 32 points and made it 98-82. Then came the dagger, a 3-pointer over Smith that gave him 35 points and made it a 19-point game, 101-82, with 6:14 left. He didn't need to do any more. No mas.
"When they sort of stopped being so aggressive on the doubles, he was unstoppable and he put it on them," said Luke Walton, who had 10 points off the bench. "Then they had to come back and he started passing again. He had them at his mercy the whole game."
Bryant keeps saying these kids coming after him don't motivate him. I don't believe him. He is standing at the gate, and all of them have to pay admission. The way Bryant performed in the conference finals, he is still a bouncer who charges an exorbitant price.
The idea that LeBron, 'Melo or Dwight Howard could use Kobe to usher in a new era by stepping over him on the way to their first title ignores the fact that Bryant is still standing there. Dwyane Wade has one title, but it didn't come against Bryant. Wade's on vacation, anyway. 'Melo is on his way, and either LeBron or Dwight will be sent packing no later than Monday. And guess who's still standing?
"He knows that nothing lasts forever," Ariza said. "It's your mark that you leave on the game, and he's leaving a crazy mark on the game. I don't think there's anybody out there that's better than him still. I don't think he has anything to prove. He just has the killer instinct in him that nobody can take it from him, no matter what."
Last summer, when Bryant was teammates with 'Melo on their way to a gold medal in Beijing, Kobe let his guard down. Or so his gullible teammates thought. He's always been so distant, so unreachable, but in those private team moments, Anthony said he got to see Bryant in a light he's never seen.
"We made him feel young again," Anthony said. "We rejuvenated him. I'm pretty sure he didn't need it, but he felt comfortable with us, man. It's been a long time since he's been in an environment like we had last summer ... Being around us, us being around him, enjoying the guys, getting to know him better as a person, a lot of people were looking forward to that."
Keep your enemies close, they say. I wasn't there on those bus rides or in the team meetings or in the locker room. But if I had to guess, I'd say Bryant was only giving them so much. There is always a part of him he won't reveal, and that is what came out on the court Friday night. That is the fuel that will burn and propel him until the black hat no longer fits. Or until someone knocks it off his head.
"He's one of the greatest competitors I've ever seen," Walton said. "He's the most skilled player in the league, so he's going to compete and he's going to try to win every opportunity he can. And he's going to keep doing that until he physically can't do it anymore. And right now he can still do it, so he looks forward to those challenges. Most times, he rises to the occasion."
As Bryant was answering questions in the news conference room, Anthony was standing outside, waiting for his turn. Bryant is keeping all of them waiting. When No. 24 emerged, 'Melo shook his hand and they hugged.
"Keep your chin up," Bryant said.
"Absolutely," 'Melo replied.
It was just the way the puppet master had planned it.
yeah beacuse kobe has won the nba title since lebron's been in the league
oh wait ,he hasnt
they've both played in one nba finals, and each lost.
kobe has a better team than lebron does, thats a given. the cavs arent that far behind, but LA has the edge on teams.
and stripes i totally agree, crawford is terrible, he kills me because he gets involved in calls that theres no way he was able to see.
laker fans, do you believe kobe would beat lebron in a game of 1 on 1?
True officiating in that 1 on 1 game? Its a toss up. Both would have a hard time guarding the other. Thats the way both of them are. Its hard for one person to lock the other down. Kobe is the better defender, but Lebron plays great catch up D. Kobe would have a hard time keeping Lebron away from the basket, but Kobe has a better outside/jump shot.
I'm witnessing Dwight Howard is the best player on the floor tonight.
Lebron has played better than anyone in the playoffs, in NBA history really. His team just didn't show up.
West and Williams had as many points as Lebron until he scored in last minute when the game was in hand. Varejao had 14.
woohoo! Magic are in the finals!!!
And how many were points when the game was over? West was taking it every time and V just started to do something Funny how you're nowheres to be found when they won or the Lakers lost. Lebron was greatness during these playoffs, that's a fact...the domination in the first two rounds hurt them. It was matchup problems, the Lakers will have that too. Magic beat them both times in the regular season, steal one at home like they did in Cleveland and it's over because of the 2-3-2 setting.
in NBA History? Wow bold statement, and shows your ignorance.

Does it matter who would win a basketball game 1 on 1? Do they determine NBA titles based on 1 on 1 ability?
Of course, I'll take Magic over both. Lebron has been in the league for 6 seasons. In Magic's first 6 seasons, he played in 5 NBA finals and won 3 of those 5. Jordan, Kobe, nor BronBron can say that.
He averaged 42, 8 and 8 against the Magic..no one has ever put up those numbers before. Again, you're non-existent when the Lakers lose or when the Cavs won, man-up a little like I have.
man up? What do you mean non existent when the Lakers lose? I'm non existent when they win. I'm not on here making guarantees every time they play either. I like to post more on the Magic/Cavs series, because you get your pannies in a wad. I like to stir you up a little and see how much further you can stick Lebrons (richard) down your throat. Now that he's out of it I may be bored til next season. Maybe next year your team will be relevant at this point of the season so you wont have to be a Laker Hater. You're more anti Kobe, than you are Pro Lebron and it shows.
Go Lakers
Whatever helps you sleep at night, but you just happen to post when they lose of LA wins. You had to put down Kobes johnson just to type all that out, you hate Lebron as much as I hate Kobe so what's the difference?
Hopefully the Magic will be hitting like they have been and like they did against LA this year, underestimated them..they're deep, can shoot great and Howard is a beast some nights.
Thats great your finally admitting Magics a better team than the Cavs. Everyones been saying it all along, but were bashed. Put the Cavs in the West and they make it to the 2nd round at best. Period.
Didn't say they were the better team, they were 3rd best in the East...they just match up good to Cleveland, which didn't play as well as they had in that series like they had all season.
Ofcourse they arent better, they just beat the Cavs 4-2 when the series was never even in doubt. Well that Cavs team that played so great during the season still couldnt defeat the Magic.
Lakers/Magic/Nuggets/Rockets are 4 teams better than the Cavs A healthy Celtics team would be in that list also.
